I think mornings are the best time to stroll along the Queen's Beach esplanade.
The temperature outside is usually nice and cool, the ocean is typically crystal clear blue with mellow waves, and the shoreline is unexpectedly sunbather free. Yoga groups start to open their mats on the grassy area for a session, and on the sand tourists in rash guards are learning how to get up and stand on surfboards, palm trees cast distinctive shadows as the sun rises, and lifeguards are getting their tower ready for their shift. It's like watching the beach park wake up.
What I really enjoy is seeing happy people, tourists and locals of many different ethnicities, not rushing about but just taking this gorgeous scenery all in as they sit on the many park benches overlooking the ocean or as they sip their coffee at the Barefoot Beach Cafe's outdoor seating. Yes, this is paradise.
